September is Life Insurance Awareness Month. According to the 2024 LIMRA Barometer study:

  • Approximately 75 million Americans currently do not own life insurance but know they need it.1
  • Another 27 million own life insurance and know they need more.

The top barrier respondents cited for not purchasing life insurance: Believing it’s too expensive. However, only 25% of all respondents correctly estimated the cost of a term life insurance policy.2
