Medication Information No Longer Required
Beginning September 13, the Medicare supplement e-application will no longer require an applicant’s prescription medications and the message below will display:
“We no longer need to manually collect medication information in the e-application. The applicant will provide consent at the end of the application for us to gather medication information using a trusted third party vendor. This information will be reviewed through our underwriting process.”
If medications are provided on paper applications, we will not use them in our risk assessment. We will, however, use any medication and medical history that we obtain from our standard underwriting process from a third party or our internal system and may need to conduct a health interview to discuss those findings before making a decision.
When a health interview is needed, it is helpful for the applicant to have their current medications, including prescriber and dosage to expedite the process.
e-App Advantages:
- Underwriting rules are automatically applied
- One signature covers most forms and all applications
- Client information fills through multiple types of applications, such as Med supp and dental
- Real-time quotes and data automatically updates
- Answers to simple questions reveal only the additional questions your client needs to answer
We appreciate your business and look forward to helping you have a successful AEP.
