Lafayette Life Chooses New APS Vendor

Lafayette Life is happy to announce that we are now contracting with ReleasePoint, a new provider for Attending Physician’s Statements (APS), in addition to our current vendor Coastal Records.

ReleasePoint will provide Lafayette Life’s underwriters with an additional resource for obtaining medical records and will help expedite the underwriting process where applicable. 

What You Need To Know
Some entities require a special authorization from the insured in addition to the signed HIPAA form already provided to Lafayette Life in order to release medical records.

When ReleasePoint is the vendor obtaining the APS they will send the request for special authorization directly to the client by mail and email (if provided).

Agents can identify APS requests from ReleasePoint by the notes for the APS requirement referencing “RPNet” in the pending business requirements on the LLIC agent portal. These clients will be contracted by ReleasePoint directly.

When the client has returned the authorization, the APS will be provided to Lafayette Life and the case continues to be processed. By contacting the insured directly, the applicable cases will see significant improvements in underwriting time.
