Updated Independent Producer Contracts
We’ve updated our Independent Producer Contracts (IPCs) for IMO producers (19375, Ver. 11/23) and organizations (19819, Ver. 11/23) writing business through Athene Annuity and Life Company or Athene Annuity & Life Assurance Company of New York. The primary purpose of these changes is to modernize contracts for today’s digital world and reflect current business practices.
Pursuant to the existing terms of the IPC, all changes will be effective after receipt of this notice. This means that the applicable terms of the updated IPC will apply to your next submitted application. Many of these changes are in line with existing business requirements and will not result in material changes when writing business with us.
Important dates to keep in mind:
For new contracts, while we’ll accept the prior IPC versions through market close (3 p.m. CT) on January 2, 2024, the new terms will apply. After that time, you’ll need to use the updated versions to be considered “in good order.”
Summary of changes:
- New authorization regarding the use of Athene technologies, trademarks, and selected automated order entry or e-Application
- Clarification of Anti-Money Laundering obligations, contract delivery requirements and producer recordkeeping obligations
- Updates to information privacy and confidentiality that reflect the changing privacy landscape
- Updates reflecting Athene’s move to Just-In-Time appointments in permitted states
