Our New FIA Index Lineup is Almost Here!
Three new exclusive index options for your clients
We’re excited to announce that three new indices, exclusive to Athene, are being added to your Athene fixed indexed annuity (FIA) product suite effective July 24, 2023.1
Impacted products include:
- Athene AgilitySM
- Athene Performance Elite®
- Athene AscentSM Pro Bonus2
Same products, same great features — with three new index options for your clients
- AI Powered Global Opportunities Index (AIGO)
- S&P 500 FC Index (SPXFCDUE)3
- UBS Innovative Balanced Index (UBSIBAL)
Before the sale
Materials: Updated materials, including Index Strategy Disclosure and Allocation Forms and certain Certificates of Disclosure (CODs), will be available on Athene Connect beginning July 22, 2023. Be sure to use up-to-date materials when offering Athene annuities.
Training: As long as product training has been completed, there will be no additional training required to sell our FIA products with the new indices.
Two existing indices to be retired
These three new indices will replace the S&P 500 Daily Risk Control 5%TM Index TR (Total Return) and S&P 500 Daily Risk Control 2 8%TM Index TR (Total Return). These options will continue to be available in existing contracts.
Important processing dates
Applications signed on or before July 21, 2023 and received in good order by Athene no later than market close (3 pm CT) on August 21, 2023 will be issued with the current index lineup. Going forward, in-force contracts will continue to offer the same index options that were available at issue.
Please note: For electronic applications submitted on AnnuityNet or Affirm, the application signed date is determined by the final date you submit the electronic order to your back office, not the physical signature date.
Applications requesting the current indices that do not meet the deadlines listed above will require a new Index Strategy Disclosure and Allocation From and may require a new Certificate of Disclosure (COD) to receive the new index lineup.
