October Ameritas DI Update

Welcome to the October Ameritas DI Update. We hope you had a great summer and are enjoying the first few weeks of fall. We are in the last three months of the year, and it doesn’t seem possible! The Cornerstone product has now been available in approved states for just over eight months. Sales are still strong, and we are still working hard to process the significant increase in business that has occurred since the launch. In addition, we continue our work in getting Cornerstone approved in the remaining eight states. We thank you all for your continued support and promotion of Ameritas and the business you bring to us. We couldn’t do it without you.

Reminder: Setting Expectations for your DI Cases

As we continue to push through the end of the year, we realize that this is a busy time for everyone. Our internal teams, including new business, underwriting and contracting & licensing are doing their best to stay current with workloads and process items as quickly as possible. If anything needs special attention or potentially requires escalation, please let your internal wholesalers and RVPs know so we can provide support where needed.

  • The DI underwriting team continues pushing to get your cases through the process, but on average they are running about 7 business days behind. Please keep this in mind and follow up on requirements accordingly. We also ask for patience with both new business and underwriting as they continue working in two separate systems (one for Cornerstone and one for Foundation) while processing a record number of applications.
  • Our DI new business case managers are relatively current in processing requirements and issuing policies. To help them maintain this please continue uploading appropriate Cornerstone new business and delivery requirements, including GME, via the new dashboard on Producer Workbench. Sending them via email to your case manager can delay the process significantly. Also, please check for case status using the new business alerts on Producer Workbench.
  • In terms of new agent contracting and licensing our team is currently assigning agent codes within 2-5 business days of receiving In-Good-Order contracting kits. This time frame may fluctuate due to daily volume and staff time off.

If you need assistance with contracting or case status, please reach out to your internal wholesaler for assistance. Allow us to be your liaison between the internal teams working hard to process your business.
