The second season of Leading Tomorrow with OneAmerica is finally here! Our team has carefully selected thought leaders to deliver smart, inspiring and entertaining presentations on the topics that matter to you.
Speaker: Dr. Monica Williams Monica Williams, MD, is an international author, keynote speaker and a board-certified emergency physician. Dr. Williams works on the front line, daily witnessing the emotional, physical and financial impacts that lack of planning has on her patients, their families and those they love. These experiences inspired her to become a leading advocate for advanced planning and a guide for patients and families facing chronic and terminal illnesses with an emphasis on designing optimal end-of-life care.
Dr. Williams practices emergency medicine in California and in Huntsville, Alabama, where she also serves the community as the Medical Director for Advanced Care Planning and End of Life Education. Dr. Williams has appeared in multiple national media for her expertise, including the Emmy Award winning show, THE DOCTORS., the Washington Post, the New York Times and Forbes. Her advance planning tools have been adopted into the UCLA Healthcare System and her book, “It’s OK to Die” and companion website www.oktodie.com are considered tools for transforming the end of life into a time of peace, closure and healing through preparation. She is excited to share her experiences with experts in the financial planning community and to illustrate how longterm care holds a critical role in allowing families to “live well and end well”.
