Washington Update

Currently, if an individual is eligible for a Medicare Advantage Guaranteed Issue (GI) situation, their plan offerings are based on their Medicare Part A Eligibility date. If their Part A Eligibility date was prior to January 1, 2020, they could apply for Plans C and F. If their Part A Eligibility Date was after January 1, 2020, they could apply for Plans D and G. This has been our position since the MACRA regulation went into effect in 2020.

Due to the Open Enrollment environment in Washington (WA), we will allow the offering of Plans A, G, HDG and N to those who are eligible for Medicare Part A prior to January 1, 2020, for all GI situations. Those who are Medicare-eligible after January 1, 2020, will be allowed to apply for Plan N in addition to Plans A, G, and HDG. These offerings will ONLY be available in Washington. We will follow MACRA requirements in all other states.

If you would like to submit applications for these plans, please submit a paper application. We are working on updating our systems with this information but do not have a final date when those changes will go live.
