We’re dedicated to helping you have a smooth and successful year-end. To ensure you’re prepared, review our holiday hours, new business processing guidelines for 2024 production, and details about this year’s required minimum distribution waiver.

New business processing year-end guidelines for 2024 production
Target dates to pay cases

Non-underwritten annuity new business
The Home Office must receive all pending, non-underwritten annuity new business applications and all outstanding requirements by the end of business on Monday, Dec. 16. 

Life policies and underwritten annuities for all companies

  • Underwriting must approve the case.
  • The Home Office must receive by end of business on Monday, Dec. 16, all delivery requirements, fully completed, including but not limited to:
    • Initial premium
    • Certificates of Insurability
    • Bank draft authorization
    • 1035/Transfer funds received
  • Any pending cases with a request for reissue or plan change must be received in the Home Office by end of business on Monday, Dec. 16, to ensure processing time for both Underwriting and New Business.

  • All policy changes must be received by the Home Office by end of business on Monday, Dec. 16.
  • Underwriting must approve the changes, when applicable.
  • Changes include, but are not limited to:
    • Conversions
    • GIO exercises 

RMD deadline for 2024
Monday, Dec. 16 is the required minimum distribution deadline

Clients who want to take an RMD from their OneAmerica Financial® company policy should do so by Monday, Dec. 16 to ensure processing by year end. Contact clients to set up an automatic RMD (use form 8-18249, Required Minimum Distribution Election) or request a one-time RMD (use form 8-17730, Partial Withdrawal, and include “RMD withdrawal”). As a reminder, a completed IRS W-4R form must be submitted with the request to ensure the appropriate federal taxes are withheld. Automatic RMDs are not available on Annuity Care®, II, III or Indexed Annuity Care. To expedite handling, email forms to policyservice@oneamerica.com. Questions?
