Rate Adjustment on AssetShield 5 and 7 Effective 08/16/23

American Equity is proud to offer simple, transparent products at competitive rates within the industry. We remain committed to helping our contract owners protect their retirement dollars. 

We will be adjusting rates on AssetShield 5 and AssetShield 7’s S&P 500^®  Annual Point-to-Point w/ Cap strategies, effective Wednesday, August 16, 2023.  

For clients to qualify for the current rates, applications along with cash or 1035/Transfer paperwork must be received by 4:45 p.m. CST on August 15, 2023, and transfer funds must be received by 1:00 p.m. CST on September 15th, 2023. 

Pending AssetShield 5 and 7 applications received on or before Tuesday, August 15 and issued between Wednesday, August 16 and Friday, September 15, 2023 will enter a 1-Year Rate Lock period. The contracts will be issued with current rates, and will renew with other contracts issued after September 15, 2023. It is reasonable to expect that your first S&P 500® Annual Point-to-Point with Cap strategy will decrease at the first contract anniversary.
