GMIR Changes Effective 04/01/22

Due to the consistently low-interest rate environment, states have passed legislation that allows for a lower Guaranteed Minimum Interest Rate (GMIR) for certain products effective April 1.

Marquis Centennial 2012 & 2017, Group Marquis Centennial 2012, Marquis SP

  • State Variations:
    • AZ, AR, CO, HI, IA, KS, MN, MT, NE, NC, OK, TX, UT: Marquis SP will receive a 0.20% GMIR and 0.20% non-forfeiture rate.
    • PA: Marquis SP will receive a 0.20% GMIR and 0.20% non-forfeiture rate effective 6/20/2022.
    • all other products will remain at a 1.00% GMIR and 1.00% non-forfeiture rate.

Apps signed before April 1 receive the previous GMIR.
